--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To organise the annual Praise Services

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To arrange the bi-monthly joint evening services.

To host the joint service for 'Week of Christian Unity in Goring'

- History -

In the years around 900BC the area was run by a warrior aristocracy
which encamped on Highdown Hill.

Then in AD43 the Romans brought Christianity to Goring, but in AD500 the South Saxons arrived in Goring.  They were pagans worshipping the gods of war and slaughter such as Woden, Tiwaz and Thunor.  Therefore Christianity was extinguished.

However nearly 100 years later the pagans themselves were overthrown
and Christianity gradually returned.
